I stumbled on this website earlier today. It shows two maps of the US one for something the state does best and one for something the state does worst. I found it quite interesting. It really provides an extra special little glimpse into the dynamics of the country. Here are some highlights from states I've lived in/have an attachment to:
Ohio
Best: 8th Grade Science Students (seem to be stretching)
Worst: Most Autism Rates
Georgia
Best: Most Industrial Electricity from BioMass
Worst: Most Pollution from Urban Runoff (I blame Atlanta)
Colorado
Best: Lowest Obesity Rates
Worst: Most deaths by Avalanches
North Carolina
Best: Most Organic Christmas Tree Farms (????)
Worst: Least Liberians per capita
South Carolina
Best: Most Nuclear Power
Worst: Fewest Acres of Organic Farm
But, my favourite little bit of info out of this was the fact that Alaska has the most airports per capita! Check it out!
